Detective Games

I like almost anything that has something to do with detectives and solving criminal cases. Even some of my favorite mangas/comics are mostly about detectives! My favorite comic about a detective is this one, though:

It was hard to decide whether I like Conan more or Yumemizu. But I think I'd prefer Yumemizu to Conan, because Yumemizu's cases are mostly dark, twisted, unreal, but interesting at the same time.
Anyway, I'm not going to talk about my favorite detective comics in here. But about the GAMES.

Yup. Playing games with detective themes will let you play the role of a detective to solve a case (or some cases) and my favorite detective games are from the awesome Big Fish Games!

Some Games that I've Finished:

1. Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst

This was my first detective game. And I knew that I've made a big mistake by making it my first one.
I was actually going to search for Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst but I've mistaken and this is what I got.
Knowing nothing, my sister and I played this game with a guide. But still, it was difficult. The mission in here is to save a nursemaid named Rose Sommerset's spirit, along with her twin daughters', Gwendolyn and Charlotte. Overall, this is a thrilling game. But one does not simply stop playing! Because you would be haunted by your own curiosity about how this game would end!

This game belongs to Ravenhearst saga series (or MCF series?) the first game was Ravenhearst, followed by Madame Fate, and then this Return to Ravenhearst, and the last one is Escape from Ravenhearst.
So in the other words, you could say that I was playing the third game first! Crazy, eh? That's why I had to peek at wikipedia to know the full story behind this saga.

2. PuppetShow: Mystery of Joyville

This game was installed on my iPod. And I had a good time playing it. I'm not scared of creepy dolls. Instead, I like it---a little bit. So no wonder that I enjoyed this game.
The mission in here is to discover the mystery behind the missing people in Joyville town. recently, a boy named Simon was missing. And his family believed that he was kidnapped by the mysterious Puppet Master of the town, whose theater was burned.

I was stuck for months though. Because I've been playing this game without a guide. But after being stuck, I started to look up on the guide. And not long after, I finished this game!
And like any other detective games, this one's full of twists, completed with a cup of dark atmospheres.

3. Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's BLACK CAT

Can you imagine how wonderful it is, to have your favorite book transformed into a game or movie?
This game was adapted from Edgar Allan Poe's book "The Black Cat." I haven't read it. But after playing this game, I am now interested.

The mission in this game is to search for the missing Madame Sarah Davies. Many people in the town reported that they've witnessed Sarah in a few places, but she always disappeared when they try to reach her. This game is dark, but I don't think there are any plot twist. In my opinion, the fact that Sarah was murdered and who the murderer was, are clear enough to be guessed from the first
moments of playing this game.

Some Games that I'm Currently Playing:

1. Mystery Case Files: Madame Fate

Or you may just say that I'm just another coward who's too scared to solve the tricky and difficult puzzles in this game, because I haven't finish this game since 2 years ago! Duh!

2. Doors of The Mind

A nice way to screw up your mind. This game lets us see into someone else's mind (a girl named Hazel) and help her to recover from her nightmares.

3. PuppetShow: Souls of The Innocent

The second game of PuppetShow saga. Help! a little girl named Jane fell unconscious and the doctors couldn't find out why. But she wasn't the only one in the town with that condition! What's happening?!

4. PuppetShow: Lost Town

The third game of PuppetShow saga. The mission is to save a kidnapped girl named Suzy and we must explore the mysterious cave where she was taken by a mysterious machine doll. Thrilling!

5. Mystery Case Files: Escape from Ravenhearst

I'm not that one teenager with so much guts inside of me. So I play this game together (again) with my sister. This last game of Ravenhearst saga was by far the scariest and the darkest. With many twists and jumpscares, you wouldn't like to play this game alone!
